ABOUT DANI
Dani DeFreitas knows what it costs to hold it together for everyone else. While earning her Master of Social Work from the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work, Dani interned as a social worker at DaVita Dialysis, supporting individuals as they navigated the emotional and mental health challenges that often accompany physical illness. That experience continues to shape the way she works with clients today. Dani recognizes the deep connection between body, mind, and spirit, and helps clients reconnect with who they are beyond whatever they may be going through. Dani joined Champion Counseling after interning with us and our partner organization, I’ll Have What She’s Having, and became a full-time member of the team in May 2026.
As a person-centered therapist, Dani works with individuals and groups, offering open, honest conversation that builds self-awareness, insight, and connection. Sessions are collaborative by design: you bring your experience and your existing strengths, she brings clinical perspective, and together you clarify what you want and what is standing in the way.
