How long will I be in therapy?

The length of therapy depends on factors such as the type of problem a couple or individual is seeking help for, how often someone attends sessions, and also how motivated goals are to be worked on. In Individual and Couples Therapy, weekly therapy for 1-3 months is highly recommended. After that it may be less frequent. In some situations it is recommended for therapy several times/week due to a current crisis or need to have a more supportive and therapeutic intervention. Each case is different and will be assessed and discussed at your initial session. With Couples, it is essential to attend frequent sessions together to help work through the difficulties that are being faced within the relationship. One main goal of Couples Therapy is to utilize the tools discussed in therapy when you are not in session.

Champion Counseling is not on any insurance panels and is considered an Out of Network provider. There are several reasons why Champion Counseling does not accept insurance. Insurance companies require therapists to provide a diagnosis to provide treatment which jeopardizes confidentiality and they also have a right to demand details regarding treatment. If you want to pursue insurance reimbursement, it is essential to verify with your carrier what your mental health coverage is from an out of network provider. Payment is due at the time of session. A statement of services can be provided to you via email if you wish to submit to your carrier.
